"Anyone who has experienced a hot Carolina summer knows that it is the time of year when days stretch out and life slows down. At bedtime in the summer, Sully looks out of the window and grimaces. “But it’s still daytime outside,” she laments. It’s hard to explain to a four-year-old why it’s still light at bedtime during only part of the year. That is, unless she’s having a sleepover at my house. Shhh…don’t tell mom and dad. Going to bed by day only happens when you’re at home."
